At St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore, sports and physical education are an integral part of holistic learning. The 100-metre sprint is one of the most exciting track events that tests speed, explosive power, and reaction time. Students are encouraged to develop athletic excellence through regular practice and competition.
The 200-metre race combines speed and endurance, helping students build stamina, determination, and competitive spirit.
This event challenges students to maintain both speed and endurance over a longer distance, promoting physical fitness and mental resilience.
Long Jump develops leg strength, balance, coordination, and explosive power. Students learn proper technique and precision while competing in field events.
High Jump encourages flexibility, strength, agility, and technical skill. It helps students improve confidence and athletic performance.
Shot Put develops upper-body strength, coordination, and technique. Students learn the importance of discipline and consistent practice.
March Past is an important part of school sports culture. It teaches discipline, coordination, leadership, and team unity while fostering school pride and respect.
Throwball is a fast-paced team sport that helps students improve coordination, communication, and teamwork while enhancing overall fitness.
Tug of War promotes teamwork, strength, coordination, and collective effort while creating enthusiasm and healthy competition among students.
Relay races promote teamwork, communication, trust, and coordination. Students learn to work together toward a common goal while developing speed and competitive spirit.

The Annual Sports Meet is one of the most anticipated events of the academic calendar.
