Every year, National Doctor’s Day serves as a meaningful reminder of the invaluable contribution that doctors make to society. At St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore, we celebrated this special occasion with enthusiasm and gratitude, honouring the selfless service of medical professionals while commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, one of India’s most respected physicians and former Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Inspiring Young Minds Through Meaningful Activities
Students from Playgroup to Class IX actively participated in a wide range of educational and interactive activities designed to promote health awareness and express appreciation for the medical community.
The celebration featured special assemblies, doctor-themed parades, health and hygiene workshops, healthy tiffin activities, balanced diet presentations, handwashing demonstrations, and engaging classroom sessions. These activities encouraged students to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while recognising the dedication and compassion of healthcare professionals.
A Heartwarming Tribute to Our Doctors :
One of the highlights of the celebration was the visit by students of Classes IV, VII, and VIII to nearby hospitals. During these visits, students personally expressed their gratitude to doctors by presenting small tokens of appreciation and heartfelt thank-you messages.
The interaction provided students with an opportunity to witness the commitment and hard work of medical professionals, helping them develop empathy, respect, and a deeper appreciation for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Learning Beyond the Classroom :
At St. Augustine’s Day School, we believe that education extends beyond textbooks. National Doctor’s Day offered students an opportunity to learn practical lessons about personal hygiene, balanced nutrition, preventive healthcare, and community service.
Through hands-on activities and real-life experiences, students strengthened their understanding of healthy living while developing values such as kindness, gratitude, compassion, and social responsibility
Nurturing Responsible and Caring Citizens
Celebrations like these play an important role in shaping responsible individuals who appreciate the efforts of those working for the well-being of society. By encouraging awareness of health and wellness from an early age, we aim to inspire our students to make informed choices and contribute positively to their communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all doctors for their unwavering dedication, compassion, and service to humanity. Their commitment continues to inspire future generations and strengthen healthier communities.
Happy National Doctor’s Day!
