Every year, St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore, transforms into a vibrant hub of energy, laughter, and athletic excellence during its much-awaited Annual Sports Fiesta. The 2025–26 edition was no exception. Held across three memorable days in December 2025, the fiesta was not merely a sporting event—it was a celebration of fitness, teamwork, discipline, creativity, and inclusivity.
From the tiniest learners in Pre-Primary to the senior-most students, every Augustinian stepped onto the field with enthusiasm, determination, and joy. Parents, teachers, and guests joined in, making the fiesta a true community celebration. This year’s themes—ranging from “Conservation of Nature” to “Space & Jungle Jamboree”—added layers of meaning, blending environmental awareness, imagination, and cultural richness with athletic spirit.
The fiesta began on 6th December 2025 at the BKP School Campus with the Pre-Primary Annual Sports Carnival. The theme, “Conservation of Nature”, beautifully reminded everyone that sports and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Participation & Enthusiasm:
A total of 289 tiny athletes took part, their infectious energy filling the campus with smiles and laughter.
Thematic Races:
Colourful races inspired by environmental motifs encouraged teamwork, coordination, and sensitivity towards nature. Children raced with props symbolizing trees, rivers, and animals, subtly learning the importance of conservation while enjoying the thrill of competition.
Yoga & Drill Displays:
A serene Yoga Display showcased balance, mindfulness, and calmness, while the energetic Drill Performance reflected discipline and unity.
Parent–Child Bonding:
A delightful “Go As You Like” segment saw 10 parents and 10 children display creativity and charm in costumes and performances. Exclusive parent events—like the Balancing Race for mothers and Dribbling the Ball Race for fathers—turned the carnival into a joyful family celebration.
The Pre-Primary Carnival emerged as a perfect blend of fun, fitness, learning, and environmental consciousness, setting the tone for the days ahead.
Later that same day, the school campus transformed under radiant floodlights into a dazzling arena for the Sports Carnival of Classes I & II.
Theme: “Space & Jungle Jamboree”
The imaginative theme brought together the mysteries of outer space and the wonders of the jungle, sparking creativity among the young participants.
Participation:
A whopping 538 young Augustinians mesmerized the audience with their energy and imagination.
Highlights of the Evening:
Walk Past & Flag Hoisting: A spirited march past and the hoisting of the school flag set the stage.
Performances: Vibrant drills, yoga, aerobics, and fun events showcased confidence, discipline, and joy.
Prize Distribution & National Anthem: The evening concluded with a heartwarming prize distribution, a vote of thanks, and the singing of the National Anthem, leaving the audience inspired.
This segment of the fiesta highlighted how sports can nurture creativity, discipline, and teamwork even in the youngest learners.

The celebrations continued on 15th December 2025 at the Metal and Steel Sports Complex, Ichhapore, with the Sports Meet for Classes III, IV & V.
March Past & House Spirit:
Students from the four houses—Netaji, Tagore, Gandhi, and Azad—marched in perfect coordination, symbolizing unity and house pride.
Ceremonial Highlights:
The school flag was hoisted, the school anthem was sung, and balloons were released into the sky, filling the atmosphere with joy. The respected Principal Ma’am delivered an inspiring address, reminding students of the values of discipline, fitness, and teamwork.
Events & Performances:
Track Events & Fun Races: Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm in sprinting, relays, and creative races.
Yoga, Karate & Drill: These performances captivated the audience, showcasing balance, strength, and discipline.
House Competitions: Tug of War and Mixed Relay Races added thrill and excitement, strengthening house spirit.
This day was a testament to the growing confidence and athletic prowess of middle school students, who balanced fun with competitive spirit.
The grand finale unfolded on 16th December 2025 at the Metal and Steel Factory Sports Complex, Ichhapore.
Opening Ceremony:
The day began with an impressive March Past and Walk Past, followed by the oath-taking ceremony and the lighting of the torch.
Chief Guest’s Presence:
The event was graced by Mr. Sulley Musah, whose motivating words inspired the young athletes. He congratulated parents for their support, especially appreciating mothers for their constant encouragement. He even interacted with the school football team, sharing invaluable tips and guidance.
Principal’s Address:
The Principal Ma’am emphasized the importance of sports in today’s digitally dominated world. She highlighted how physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, teamwork, and reduced screen time can be achieved through active participation in sports.
Events of the Day:
Track & Field Competitions: Students showcased athletic excellence in sprints, relays, and long-distance races.
Cultural Displays: Aerobics, karate, yoga, and drill performances added grace and variety.
Inter-House Relays & Parents’ Events: These events brought thrill and inclusivity, engaging both students and families.
Inclusivity Highlight: Students from Sampoorna (Evening School)—which provides vocational education to underprivileged girls—participated with great zeal, embodying the spirit of inclusivity.
Closing Ceremony:
The fiesta concluded with Prize Distribution, honouring excellence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
