St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore, solemnly observed the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, paying tribute to the courage, ultimate sacrifice, and indomitable spirit of our brave soldiers. The commemorative programme was marked by a deep sense of pride and gratitude, as students across departments reflected on the valour and selfless dedication of our armed forces through a highly dignified observance.
The institution was deeply privileged and honoured to welcome Col Sharma as the esteemed guest for this memorable occasion. His presence added immense significance to the programme. Addressing the assembly, his inspiring words deeply encouraged the students to imbibe the vital core values of discipline, courage, and commitment in their daily academic and personal lives.
Following the solemn memorial, an engaging Motivational Talk and Workshop on Careers in the Armed Forces was conducted exclusively for the senior students of Classes XI & XII. The highly interactive session was spearheaded by Col P. Anand Thampi, Director, Army Recruiting Office (ARO), Barrackpore.
The insightful session motivated our senior students to explore various technical, non-technical, and leadership career paths within the defence sectors. Through detailed interactions, Col P. Anand Thampi helped the students understand the profound importance of leadership, absolute dedication, and service to the nation. It was a truly enriching, patriotic, and eye-opening experience for everyone in attendance.
